Triaging a Referral

When you receive a referral, the recipient will have a message appear on their OCULO Referrals page, along with Clinical Support personnel.  The message appears as indicated below:

You can access the referral by clicking on the name of the patient directly from the homepage.  Once you have opened the referral, it appears as per below:

The message section on the referral record reflects any activity that the referral has undergone, which includes a status being changed, a booking being made or rebooked, and if correspondence has been added to the referral by either the sender or recipient.

The Outcome button allows you to change the status on the referral to either ‘Seen’ or ‘Did not attend’.  Once you select one of these options, you can add further information about the status.

Patient Seen

Patient Did Not Attend

The referral sender will be notified by email of any status change and messages added, as will Clinical Support personnel in the senders practice.

The Withdraw button allows you to withdraw a referral if required, as per below.

The Redirect button allows you to withdraw the referral from the original recipient, and then send the same information to another provider, as per below.

Adding Correspondence to a referral

The +Correspondence allows you to send a message to the referral sender / recipient, include the patient’s GP in on the communication by using the CC section, and also send documents and images.
