What is "desired refraction"?

Desired refraction is the outcome that suits the patient in terms of if they have a preference to be long or short sighted after surgery. For example, if you were a professional seamstress you would want to still be able to see for close work without needing reading glasses and might prefer to need glasses for driving or to sacrifice distance vision a little. A golfer would make the opposite choice.
